Dine Alley Tours

Every location discovered down a dirt road …

Exclusive

Strictly 1~4 guests only. No buses, no crowds, all you. All within the understated and stunning ‘golden alley’ of Southern Tasmania.

Personal

Includes access to real farms without retail or cellar doors. Meet the producers, hear their stories and immerse in their operations.

DELECTABLE

Gourmet tastings of all the farmers’ wares that are only sold into high-end Tassie vendors and not big corporates, concluding with a wine-chocolate pairing and lunch at one of Australia’s best vineyards.

Experience 1

Goat dairy. Get amongst the kids, join the Swiss Toggenburg herd. Experience the dairy and witness cheese and curd making whilst tasting Tassie’s finest fresh goat products and sampling their creams. Hear Iain and Kate’s stories.

Experience 2

Third generation cow dairy by the sea. Get amongst the 800 Friesian milkers and their calves. See the dairy and witness Tassie’s finest premium milk, the silent source behind so many of Tassie’s best dairy brands, being made. Taste their own crafted products, enjoy the views and listen to the Bignell family’s stories.

Experience 3

A progressive vineyard and cellar door owned and run by the pioneer of Tassie winemaking. Small batch production in high demand. Most people claim the views of Maria Island, the Tasman Sea and Hellfire Bluff is Tassie’s best coastal vista. Enjoy an immaculate wine tasting selection, including a rare schonburger and Tasmania’s most awarded Pinot Noir. Experience a platter of the finest local cured meats and preserves whilst listening to Fred’s stories.

Experience 4

A diversified potato farm. Only 3% of vodkas in the world remain to be made from potatoes so there is no better place to witness the making of such rare art by the wizards at this understated and hardworking distillery. And not just vodkas, also enjoy a tasting flight of gin, limoncello, chocolate liquers and more. Take in the vistas, hear the Daly family stories and witness the fascinating process from spud harvest to distilling to bottling.

Experience 5

Oyster farm in Tassie’s clearest waters. Experience exclusive access to the back of the working shed situated right on the oyster farm waters. Witness the collection, sorting and shucking in this lively operation. Hear Phil’s stories about this long running farm, enjoy the flavour of premium ‘Tassie Golds’ as they are shucked for you onsite.

Experience 6

Easily one of Tassie’s best overall destination vineyards (as the awards attest) on a working fifth generation sheep farm. Walk amongst the vines to learn about the grape making process, hear the stories of one of Tasmania’s longest continuing family legacies, experience a special wine and chocolate pairing before concluding with a class-act lunch to delight every taste and appetite.

Experience 7

Depending on the day, for example an operation on one of the farms requiring a skipped stop or a desperate requirement for a final beer before heading home, a quick stop at Australia’s only man-made working canal can be in order. Enjoy a cold concluder as you enjoy the views of the working wharf, fishing trawlers and shipwright whilst hearing the stories of the original cannery in which you sit.
